Andrew
P. Crane (Open Brand Productions) has worked for the
non profit American
Cinematheque in Los
Angeles as a programmer and in membership for nearly 10
years and has conducted countless discussions with
filmmakers after
screenings in this capacity. Prior to this, he was the
booker for the
Pikme-up cafe in Los Angeles, the
subject of this
documentary. He was the singer/keyboard player and wrote
many of the songs
for the original Drowning Pool in the 1980’s, recording
four lp’s/cd’s, as well as being the singer/keyboard
player and writer in his own solo project, Acorn,
in the 1990's. He has written various articles on many
aspects of
the film
business
and moderated
many panels
at film festivals. “The
Pikme-up” is Andrew’s
feature debut as a writer, producer, and director as well
as conducting the interviews used in the film. |
